AUCTION COMPLETED

COVID restrictions in 2020 seriously curtailed the Darlington History Group's funding sources, and the opportunities for fundraising. An Art Auction Fundraiser was suggested to fund the shortfall. The Darlington History Group are extremely grateful to the community donations of artwork, and to the artists who have contributed to the Art Auction Fundraiser. We would especially like to extend our thanks and appreciation to gallery owner Trish Juniper for donating Juniper Galleries to DHG for a week, donating significant artworks, and for invaluable input into staging the auction.

Some Artworks have local significance and others are works collected over the years. Artworks include iconic Australian artists Elizabeth Durack, Mac Betts and Robert Juniper, multi awarded photographer and State Living Treasure Richard Woldendorp, renowned artists David Gregson, Jenny Janes Armati, Nigel Hewitt, Stuart Elliott, Joanna Capelle, Madeleine Clear, Phillipa O'Brien, and Jane Martin. Also represented are mixed media Steampunk artist Vince Austin, awarded artist Robert Hancock, renowned Hills artists Dimity Gregson, Russell Bell and Una Bell, and many others. A significant piece is a small delicate watercolour painted by historic Australian artist and gallery owner Elizabeth (Betty) Bunning in her late 70s.

Curated by George Grayston (architect and artist) and DHG Chair Val Shiell, some artworks have been donated in full, and other artworks are shared proceeds with the artist/donor. All profits to DHG from this FUNDRAISING ART AUCTION will assist the Darlington History Group to continue to provide and implement projects of historical importance to the Darlington Community.
